Graduate Student Assistantship

Graduate Student Assistantship – approximately 6 weeks (February – March)

The GPOW ad hoc name change committee has modest funds to pay for a graduate assistant to help with survey data analysis. (Payment approximately $500 and will be reported to IRS by AAG.) GPOW members or others with feminist geography backgrounds preferred.

Experience using Qualtrics to develop basic descriptive statistics on shorter responses and demographic data and qualitative analysis for longer responses to the survey. Recommended use of HyperRESEARCH, Atlas.ti, NVivo or similar software. Assistant will work with Ann Oberhauser at Iowa State University to download, process, and analyze data in conversation with ad hoc committee. Some hours will involve co-writing a preliminary results overview packet/report for GPOW members to see in preparation for a GPOW discussion session during the upcoming AAG annual meeting (it would be beneficial for the student to attend the AAG, but not necessary).

The timeframe for this work is between February 15th and late March (with some writing/presenting of data possible in April).

If you can think of anyone through your networks or want to reach out to the broader grad GPOW community, we would appreciate it.

Anyone wishing to apply should send 1) brief cover letter, 2) short resume relevant to the tasks above and 3) names and contact info of two references to Ingrid L. Nelson (ilnelson@uvm.edu).

The deadline for brief application materials is February 9th!

Thank you in advance for your help with this!
